PROFINET, Gigabit Ethernet and Fiber Optic in one switch
The new FLEXtra PROFINET switch from Helmholz offers maximum flexibility through freely configurable RJ45 ports, which can be used as PROFINET or Ethernet with up to 1000 Mbit/s depending on the application.
This means that communication between the control level and the machine is possible in one switch. The PROFINET prioritization of the machine level is always guaranteed. In addition to PROFINET, functions such as SNMP, NTP, VLAN, port mirroring, QoS/CoS mapping and extensive statistics are available for managing the Ethernet network. The practical arrangement of the Ethernet ports saves space in the cable routing and in the control cabinet. Clearly visible status LEDs on the top of the switch enable simple and quick diagnostics, even when fully wired.
The new FLEXtra switch can distinguish whether the telegram is a web request, an FTP file transfer, a media stream or a PROFINET telegram. When there is a high transmission load, the important telegrams are prioritized in order to prevent telegram losses from the machine components. The supported PROFINET protocols, such as LLDP, DCP or diagnostic alarms, can be easily parameterized and managed via PROFINET or the web interface. A redundant power supply also ensures a high level of reliability.
In addition, the new variant of the FLEXtra-Switch series from Helmholz offers two SFP ports for fiber optic transmission with 1000 Mbit/s, as single mode or multimode.
