We would like to inform you at an early stage about a future adjustment regarding the use of myREX24 V2 public accounts.
Background of the Adjustment
Helmholz provides extensive IT resources for the operation of the myREX24 V2 platform, particularly server infrastructure, storage, and network resources.
With the continuous growth of the platform and the increasing use of data-intensive applications, the transferred VPN data volume will in future be evaluated based on actual usage.
The objective is to ensure the long-term stability, performance, and scalability of the platform while also guaranteeing fair usage for all users.
Evaluation Period
The data traffic recorded per myREX24 account during the period from January 1, 2026 to December 31, 2026 will serve as the basis for the future provision of the required IT resources starting in 2027. The year 2026 serves exclusively as a transparent evaluation phase.
Included Data Volume
All myREX24 V2 public accounts include 60 GB of data volume per year free of charge.
Based on current evaluations, more than 97% of all customers will continue to use myREX24 free of charge as before.
Typical Use of myREX24
Typical use of myREX24 consists of remote maintenance and targeted access to machines and systems.
Applications with permanently high data traffic – such as continuous video streaming, permanent data synchronization, or comparable 24/7 data streams – naturally require significantly higher IT resources and do not correspond to the classic remote maintenance scenario.
Usage Categories Starting in 2027
The future provision of IT resources will be categorized based on the annual transferred data volume.
The assignment to a usage category will be based on the actual data volume transferred per account during the 2026 calendar year.
If the included free volume of 60 GB per year is exceeded, the annual calculation of the provided IT resources will take place from January 2027 onward in accordance with the table above.
No Throttling or Disconnection
VPN connections will never be automatically disconnected or throttled when certain data volumes are reached.
Solutions for Larger Applications
For applications with permanently higher data requirements or larger installations, a dedicated virtual myREX24 V2 server may be a suitable alternative.
This solution provides dedicated resources and is particularly suitable for larger remote service or IIoT applications.
