Security boost for your network security

The WALLIE NAT gateways from Helmholz protect machine networks with firewall rules and secure access without IP changes. They filter data traffic and offer protection against cyber threats.

In the networked industry of the future, the security of machines and systems is crucial for a stable and fail-safe process. With network segmentation and secure access to the machine network, you can easily optimize your processes.

The NAT gateways / machine firewalls of the WALLIE series from Helmholz offer customized protection of sensitive data and protect critical systems from cyber threats. The easy-to-configure gateways are installed once and permanently between the machine and the production network.

NAT mode allows machines to be transparently integrated into the factory network without having to change the machine's IP addresses. The NAT operating mode enables address translation and uses firewall rules or packet filters to restrict access to the automation network behind it. WALL IE thus also acts as a transition (conduit) for a new network segment (zone) to establish secure communication in accordance with the IEC 62443 security standard.

Specially designed for applications in machine networks, WALLIE gateways specifically protect the networks by precisely regulating which participant is allowed to communicate and exchange data with which device. WALLIE adapts to the respective requirements of the existing machine network through individual configuration via the web interface. Restricting access to authorized persons is a basic prerequisite for protecting the automation network. The networks or IP addresses behind a “WALL IE” remain hidden and are not visible from the outside. If the company network is now threatened by a virus or malware due to an attack or carelessness, the automation network behind a WALLIE remains unaffected and therefore secure.

The prerequisite for this is a packet filter functionality: the packet filter increases security so that only desired communication takes place - unnecessary data exchange is blocked.

All specifications can be defined and configured user-specifically with a WALLIE. Helmholz also offers its customers this added value through individualization as a service. The firewall, which has already been configured for the specific application, is then delivered ready for use and only needs to be supplied with power.
