The Helmholz plug-in transceivers according to the SFP standard enable the connection of fiber optic cables to the FLEXtra switches with FO ports. The SFP modules support an Ethernet transmission rate of 1 Gbit/s. The SFP transceiver modules should always be installed in pairs with a technically suitable fiber optic cable.
The SFP modules are available in versions for single and multimode fiber optic cables. The SFP modules are designed for fiber optic cables with LC connectors.

The Helmholz SFP transceiver modules are intended for use in Helmholz FLEXtra switches, but can also be used in other switches with a compatible SFP port. The modules support an Ethernet transmission rate of 1 Gbit/s. The SFP transceiver modules should always be installed in pairs with a technically suitable fiber optic cable. They are approved as Laser Class 1 in accordance with IEC 60825-1. Please observe the relevant safety regulations for the use of laser products.
It is very easy to install an SFP module in a free SFP port of your switch. To do this, fold down the safety clip and remove the dummy plug. Insert the LC connector into the SFP module and fold the bracket back up. The module is now mechanically locked in the SPF port and you can put the switch into operation. SFP modules may be plugged and unplugged during operation. Please note, however, that plugging or unplugging during operation can disrupt the communication of the system.
