The Distributed Fieldbus I/O System – TB20.

The right Fieldbus Coupler for every PLC.

The TB20 bus coupler connects the I/O system to the higher-level PLC control. The I/O level can be standardized, regardless of whether the PLC relies on PROFINET, PROFIBUS, ModbusTCP or other fieldbus protocols.

Minimal Assembly and Downtime due to Ergonomic Module Design

High Availability

Relay modules with integrated switching counters provide early warning of machine downtime

Compact Size

The small width and height of the TB20 modules provide more space in control cabinets. Also perfectly suited for distributions with low cabinet depth.

Tool Free Assembly

The 3-part pre-assembled modules are clipped onto the top-hat rail by hand, thus reducing assembly times.

Hot-swappable modules

Individual modules can be replaced quickly and easily while the rest of the system continues to run. The hot-swappable electronic modules minimize downtime.

Evaluate energy values and signal transmitters with the PLC

In addition to the classic digital and analog input/output modules, the product segment for the decentralized TB20 I/O system also includes energy meters for detailed energy data acquisition.

With the SSI interface modules, you can achieve precise position determination or displacement measurement, as is often used for linear motors, for example. Signals that change faster than the clock of the programmable logic controller can be acquired with counter modules.

„Super support, especially during the test phase“ and „the Helmholz devices are really very easy to use“

Areas of Application - the TB20 I/O System in Action

Energy Efficiency Through Condition Monitoring

The Energy Meter supports you in precisely analyzing and evaluating the operating data of the relevant energy consumers.

With the knowledge gained from this, you can take targeted measures that increase the energy efficiency, reliability and profitability of your plants.

Retrofit Versus new Investment

With the m-reading digital input modules of the TB20 I/O system, many existing machines can be brought up to date in a cost-optimized manner and prepared for international use.

This eliminates the need for costly new cabling.

Electromobility with a Future - Analog Input Modules for Measuring Battery Voltages

With the ISO analog input modules, you measure the voltage values reliably and safely: The individual channels are isolated from each other. With an extended voltage range of up to 100 V, our analog input modules are now available to you for even more applications.

Air Conditioners with Precise Temperature Monitoring

With the PT100/air-conditioning module, you can evaluate critical values to two decimal places after the decimal point and take countermeasures in good time before damage occurs. And the energy meter module helps you keep the energy consumption of the air conditioning system under control.

Constant Recipes Through Precise Monitoring of Filling Quantities

The strain gauge weighing module for the TB20 I/O system supports you in monitoring the defined filling quantities (recipes) and reliably adhering to the limit values. The module offers you the optimal solution for all applications in which strain gauge sensors are used.

Areas of Application - the TB20 I/O System in Action

3-Part Module Structure

The I/O module consists of separate front connector, electronics module and base module. All modules are plugged onto the DIN top-hat rail quickly and contact-safe via a latching mechanism and can be removed quickly and easily for maintenance and/or expansion.

All modules are supplied complete (one pane) and can be mounted immediately. There is no need for time-consuming stock-keeping and assembly for special/accessory parts.

Optimum Handling with Compact Design

The ergonomic design of the system facilitates handling. Despite the space-saving compact dimensions, all system components are industrially robust, mechanically stable and contact-proof in IP20. An optimal system width can be achieved by using modules with up to 16 digital or 8 analog channels and Digital Mix In/Out modules.

Clear Unambiguous Labeling

The design of the system ensures that the channel labeling is unambiguous, clear and very legible during operation. This allows direct assignment of the terminal to the respective LED display. The labeling strips are suitable for laser printers.

With the free TB20-ToolBoxV2 you can easily create the labeling as well as a complete documentation of the decentralized I/O system.

Hot-Swap Capability

Individual modules can be quickly and easily replaced while the rest of the system continues to run. Hot-swappable electronics modules minimize downtime.
